Celebrating World Engineering Day 2023

Happy World Engineering Day! Today, we join the world in celebrating the fascinating world of engineering and the engineers behind the innovative solutions propelling us towards a sustainable future.

This year’s theme, “Engineering innovation for a more resilient world”, is significant to us as we support our clients in their objectives to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. As leading decarbonisation experts, we help clients deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions.

We are proud of the part we play in many key projects aimed at making our world a better, more resilient place. Such projects include: the Liverpool Heart & Chest decarbonisation reports; Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Low Carbon Skills Fund, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Low Carbon Surveys and the Co-operative low carbon store.

At the heart of each project is a team of experienced building physics engineers whose knowledge and dedication play a key role in our success. Today, we’re excited to celebrate our team and engineering professionals worldwide whose contributions are integral to a better tomorrow.

Our team will be on hand at Stand F32 to discuss the range of services we offer through Net Zero UK.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Salix Finance announce Phase 3 Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund (Phase 3 LCSF)

Salix Finance has announced the launch of the third phase of funding for the Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) in partnership with the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), which offers up to £14 million of grant funding for public sector organisations.

LCSF Phase 3 builds on the success of the first two phases of LCSF funding, with the aim of supporting public sector organisations to develop heat decarbonisation plans (HDPs) for their estate.

The scheme provides grants to obtain expert advice and professional skills to create or improve upon an existing HDP setting out the steps and proposed timeline for decarbonising the building’s heating systems. Having a robust HDP will put organisations in a strong position to take the next steps in decarbonising, including enabling them to develop detailed project proposals that will help them to apply for any future grant funding for capital decarbonisation measures or alternative sources of finance. This enables organisations to think more strategically and be better prepared for future decarbonisation opportunities.

Applications for Phase 3 of the LCSF are open Wednesday 15th June at 2 pm for all eligible public sector bodies.

How can we help?

Net Zero UK can help you to produce your HDP by providing expert advice on all aspects of building & energy modelling, climate change, comfort, and wellbeing, and provide quantified decarbonisation reports identifying improvements to both building fabric and services to help reduce carbon emissions.

We can also provide detailed mechanical and electrical designs for all types of decarbonisation works together with construction phase monitoring, helping to ensure that the energy efficiency goals targeted are met.

We have already helped several clients to produce their HDPs, such as Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Contact us today to see how we can help you.
